Personal Profile

Dr. Louie Hung Tak Lobo is a well-known figure in the field of sports science in Hong Kong. He currently serves as a Senior Lecturer I in the Department of Health and Physical Education at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) and is a Fellow and the Immediate Past President of the Sports Medicine and Sports Science Association of Hong Kong, China. Dr. Louie received his Master's (Sports Medicine & Health Science) & Doctorate Degree (Physical Education) in Springfield College, Massachusetts, USA. He served at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (1990 -1993) and Hong Kong Baptist University (1993 - 2021) and joined the Education University of Hong Kong since September 2021. Dr. Louie has published extensively in the international journals and his research focus is on school children physical activity and public health. In recognition of his significant contributions to sports promotion and community service in Hong Kong, Dr. Louie was awarded the Chief Executive‘s Commendation for Community Service Award in 2018 and the Medal of Honour (MH) in 2023 by the Hong Kong SAR Government. Actively engaged in public affairs, he currently serves as a member of the Sports Commission under the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau, a member of the Steering Committee for the Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases of the Health Bureau, and a member of the Health Promoting School Advisory Committee of the Department of Health, etc.
