Professional Profile

Dr. Lincoln Fok is an Associate Professor of the Department of Science and Environmental Studies @EdUHK. He is a believer of, and practices experiential learning. By training, his research focuses on hydrology and geomorphology with a particular concern on the impacts of water and sediment quantity and quality along with their implications on the environment. More recently, his research has been extended to other fields including marine debris, eco-tourism, protected area management, environmental consciousness and education for sustainability.

Human Exposure to Microplastics through Nonalcoholic Beverage Consumption

Assessing Willingness-to-pay for Voluntary Carbon Offsets among the Greater Bay Area’s Air Travellers: A Comparison of Hypothetical and Non-hypothetical Estimations
Voluntary carbon offsetting can play an important role in greenhouse gas mitigation when there are persistent barriers to mandatory action. The proposed study will assess consumer demand for voluntary carbon offset (VCO) credits in China via a discrete choice experiment (DCE). Assessing the Efficacy of Augmented Reality (AR) Sandbox in Secondary Geography Education in Hong Kong
This research seeks for an evidence-based investigation on the effectiveness of AR Sandbox on geographical education, relating to teaching of topics on both physical and human geography. Students from secondary schools would be invited to experience lessons specifically designed using AR Sandbox. Pre- and post-test evaluation on students' learning outcomes, and lesson observations would be administered to assess the effectiveness of this technology on learning geography.

Large mosaic art using recycled plastic
This project aims to create large mosaic art using plastic trash recycled from the HKIEd. We coordinated with Mr Afa Lee, the father of the green elephant and the Taiwan Tourism Bureau and use the mosaic art to promote environmental education, waste reduction and ecotourism of Taiwan.
