Research Interests

Dr. Zoran Poposki's scholarly and artistic research navigates the complex intersections of contemporary creative practice, exploring profound connections between technological innovation and artistic expression. His investigations into contemporary art practice and theory examine how artists negotiate meaning in an increasingly digitized and globally interconnected cultural landscape, critically analyzing the evolving methodologies through which art transforms social understanding and intellectual discourse.
Digital art and visual culture represent a particularly generative domain of Dr. Poposki's research, where he interrogates the fundamental shifts occurring in artistic production through digital mediums. His work explores how emerging technologies fundamentally reshape visual communication, challenging traditional boundaries between creator, artwork, and audience while revealing new paradigms of aesthetic and conceptual engagement.
The emergent field of creative artificial intelligence represents another critical area of Dr. Poposki's scholarly inquiry. By examining the complex relationships between algorithmic systems and human creativity, he investigates how AI technologies can serve as collaborative tools, generative platforms, and philosophical provocations that expand our understanding of artistic authorship and computational creativity.
His research into NFT art critically examines the revolutionary blockchain-based art market, analyzing how these digital assets transform notions of artistic ownership, authenticity, and value. Dr. Poposki explores the philosophical and economic implications of these new digital art economies, considering how they challenge traditional art world infrastructures and create unprecedented opportunities for global artistic exchange.
Public art remains a central focus of Dr. Poposki's work, where he investigates how artistic interventions can transform urban spaces, engage community narratives, and create dialogic encounters between art, place, and collective experience. His research considers public art as a dynamic form of social communication that can challenge dominant narratives, activate civic imagination, and generate meaningful public discourse.
Arts leadership emerges as a crucial dimension of Dr. Poposki's scholarly exploration, where he examines the strategic, creative, and ethical dimensions of cultural management. His research considers how innovative leadership models can support artistic ecosystems, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and create sustainable pathways for artistic innovation and cultural development.

AI-driven Creativity in Art Education
The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in art education has the potential to transform creative pedagogy, yet the impact of AI-driven creativity on the artistic process remains underexplored. This project proposes an interdisciplinary theoretical framework synthesizing insights from educational psychology, philosophy of art, and AI ethics to elucidate the paradox of AI-driven creativity in art education.
The research questions are: (1) How does AI-driven creativity influence the artistic process in art education? (2) To what extent can AI foster or hinder creativity in art students? (3) How can art educators navigate the ethical implications of AI-driven creativity?
