Understanding motivations, environmental attitudes and behaviours of nature-based tourists in protected areas in mainland China
This study aims to investigate the motivations, environmental attitudes and behaviours of Chinese nature-based tourists. Through questionnaire surveys and field observations of the three selected natural reserves in Guangdong, China, a better understanding of the characteristics of Chinese nature-based tourists shall be gained. The results of this study will fill the research gaps in the current literature. The findings will also be important for tourism marketing, product and services design, and environmental protection, particularly for the conservation of protected areas.
