新冠疫情下香港市民的中醫藥使用情況:國家支援、特區防疫政策及中醫藥業界動員的影響 新冠疫情期間,香港中醫積極投入抗疫,業界籌組「香港中醫藥界抗疫聯盟」;國家推動「援港抗疫中醫專家組」來港,特區政府亦支援中醫抗疫服務。然而,中醫參與抗疫,以及國家和特區的中醫抗疫政策,有沒有改變香港市民對中醫藥的觀感和使用,目前未有系統性的研究。本研究旨在1. 瞭解疫情期間巿民中醫求診情況:使用中醫藥治理新冠病毒、使用中醫遙距問診及新冠復康服務、服用「連花清瘟膠囊」等新冠特效中成藥 2. 瞭解巿民對國家及特區防疫政策的看法 3. 分析中醫業界動員、國家及特區防疫政策對中醫藥使用的影響 4. 提出中醫藥政策建議

Development Research on School-based Programme of Career and Life Development: Case Study of Future Education in Action Project (RMG) The team from the Education University of Hong Kong will be responsible for conducting development research for the second-year project of Future Education in Action (FEiA) initiated by The D.H. Chen Foundation under the mission of promoting values-driven life planning education (LPE) through school-based innovation and the following objectives: 1. To empower teachers and teaching teams for school-based innovation; 2. To promote values-driven life-planning education for students through an integrated model; 3. To foster cross-sectoral collaboration for future learning and teaching of teachers and students; 4. To drive wider participation of secondary schools in values-driven LPE through the dissemination of experience and practice of FEiA.

The Development of Chinese Medicine in Hong Kong: Professionalization, Utilization and Policies Building on the previous endeavors by Chinese Medicine Studies (CMS) research team, this project aims to advance public interest in healthcare service and propose solutions to propel professional development of Chinese Medicine (CM) in Hong Kong. 2 research initiatives are currently in progress: 1) to instigate deliberative platform for CM professionals, policy makers and citizens to achieve consensus on the future planning of CM specialization, licensing examination and continuing education programmes, 2) to map out the opportunities for HK-based CM to operate in the Greater Bay Area

香港市民中醫藥使用情況:社經背景、選擇過程與政策面向 This project aims to understand the general utilization of Chinese Medicine (CM) services among Hong Kong citizens, decision-making process of Hong Kong CM users and their corresponding comments toward medical policies regarding CM development through phone survey, clinic survey and in-depth interview. Blocked Youth Social Mobility in Hong Kong: Myth or Reality? This project proposes to examine the latest social mobility situation of Hong Kong youth, uncover the factors that affect their social mobility, explore the potential mechanism of how those factors interact with each other, and assess the impact of social mobility. Specifically, the project will concentrate on three themes within the research of social mobility: intra-generational mobility, intergenerational mobility, and the impact of social mobility on persons’ life satisfaction. Finally, the project will help clear the ground for further discussion on the right kind of policies to promote youth social mobility in Hong Kong, remove barriers in the education and labour market transition for youth, and help sustain social harmony

The Long March towards Professionalization: Study of Chinese Medicine Practitioners' Attitudes towards Professional Development in Hong Kong The purpose of this study is to conduct a survey of Chinese medicine practitioners in Hong Kong to understand their personal and professional backgrounds, their practicing status and their views on the major issues and policies impinging on the development Chinese medicine. We hope this will deepen our understanding of the profession and the sector in Hong Kong. Furthermore, through a consolidation of the divergent views of the industry and identification of common grounds, we could come up with feasible recommendations for further policy deliberations of the relevant professional community and policymakers.

Becoming a Teacher: Understanding the Pathway to Pursue a Teaching Career This is an action research project to support the promotion of our BEd programmes in community engagement activities. There are three components. First, it will examine the perceptions of senior secondary students on an educational career and on studying at EdUHK. Second, it will look into the experiences of FLASS’s current BEd students and their views on the various aspects of their training and career development. Third, it will interview recent graduates from our BEd programmes to understanding their employment experiences and their views on the relevance and possible venues of improvement of our programmes. A combination of quantitative and qualitative methods will be employment whenever feasible and the findings will be fed back into future community engagement and publicity activities.

The Professionalization of Chinese Medicine in Hong Kong Since the SAR: A Social Movement Perspective This project examines the professionalization of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in Hong Kong since the mid-1990s by reviewing its quest for institutionalization and public acceptance. In particular, we focused on the formation of TCM practitioners as a collective actor, their organization and professional identity, and their interactions with the various stakeholders in the professionalization of TCM in Hong Kong.
