Projects

Digital Storytelling and Intercultural Identity of Hong Kong and UK-Based Overseas Chinese Student Vloggers on Social Media Platforms
This project is one of the Seed Fund projects under the 02194 Formulation of Research Network between EdUHK and IOE (UCL). It investigates the intercultural identity construction of Chinese postgraduate students studying in Hong Kong and the UK, focusing on their vlogging practices on social media platforms like Bilibili, Xiaohongshu, and YouTube. This research contributes to the fields of globalization studies, digital culture, and transnational mobility by highlighting the role of vlogs as digital spaces for identity construction and intercultural negotiation. Beyond academic insights, the findings have practical implications for universities and policymakers, offering strategies to support international students’ cultural adaptation and mental well-being.
