Professional Profile

Ms Chow has been working as an English language lecturer in the University since 2013. Various language enhancement courses for students from different Years have been taught, namely Academic English: Writing & Reading, Academic English: Speaking & Reading, English Communication, Professional Communication, IELTS Preparation, etc. She aspires to cultivate a postive learning enviornment in classrooms and be a good learning faciliator for her students. Ms Chow adopts a student-centred approach and always connects teaching and learning with the authentic context. She has also been the course coordinator of a core language enhancement course offered to over 500 students from different programmes, involving over ten English lecturers. Ms Chow is eager in attending symposiums, conferences and online courses and keen on sharing good practices among colleagues.

Capacity Building and Curriculum Reform in English Language Enhancement

Language Enhancement at EdUHK and Beyond: Fostering a Community of Practice on Technology-enhanced Language Learning and Teaching
This project intends to achieve the following objectives: 1). Identify creative and effective use of technologies in language learning and teaching (English / Cantonese / Putonghua / other modern languages); 2). Investigate how such technologies help to enhance students’ language learning and teachers’ language teaching through guided self-reflection and critical evaluations of their technology-enhanced language learning/teaching practices; 3).
