(1) Dr. Tsui was appointed as an Independent School Manager in Sheung Shui Alliance Primary School from March 2009. (2) She was invited to be an Extenal Course Assessor by Open University of Hong Kong from March 2008 to June 2009. (3) She was invited to involved in community service to over 30 preschools and involvement in school development and staff development seminars. (4) She was invited to be School-based Quality Assurance Consultant for numerous preschools and Curriculum Consultant since 2001. (5) She was invited to deliver talks to preschool parents since 2000.

Personal Profile

Dr Tsui has extensive experience in early childhood education teacher and principalship training. She has appointed as Programme Coordinator and Field Experience Coordinator since 2005 and Course Coordinator for Principalship Certificate Course for Kindergarten (2009-2011). Numerous preschools and institutions in Hong Kong recognize her expertise and contributions in early childhood education. She is a consultant to numerous kindergartens as well as trainers and advisors for more than 50 preschools. Her area of research and teaching are in teaching quality as well as preschool quality assurance. Her projects involve teacher professional development, school-based quality assurance, teaching and learning in early childhood education and health promoting kindergartens.

好家長愛孩子計劃:創造全語文家庭善用圖書館資源 Head Start for Kids to Language and Literacy
The project aims to enhance parents’ knowledge and skill in educating their children by setting the whole language families and making good use of libraries. Two cohorts of parent training programme has been undertaken in Tai Po and Tin Shui Wai respectfully. A set of teaching material are published for schools and libraries.本研究旨在配合香港學前教育及小學語文課程最新發展,結合研究與實踐所得,為香港學前兒童(4-5歲)的家長設計及提供適設的課程,輔助家長創造全語文學習型家庭、善用圖書館資源,籍以支援子女學好語文,建立良好學習基礎,培養美好的人格,並促進和諧親密的家庭關係。

Fostering Creative Imagination through Movement Activites: An Exploratory Study on a 6-Year Old Child in Hong Kong

Zippy's Friends Programme in Kindergarten and Primary Schools in Hong Kong (2005-2009)
It teaches children how to cope with everyday difficulties, to talk about their feelings and explore ways of dealing with them, and to help other people with their problem. Up to now, a total number of 149 primary schools and 400 kindergartens have participated in the project. 1,374 teachers were trained to run the ZF program. A total of 21,017 kindergarten children and 9,621 Primary One children have benefited from Zippy's Friends' Program with enhanced emotional and social competence. The Zippy's Website was launched in 2005-6 in order to provide further professional support for teachers and parents.The Hong Kong Bank Foundations has contributed 2,885,000 to support the Hong Kong Institute of Education in introducting Zippy's Friends' Programme from 2006-2009. (Zippy Friends Phase 2). This programme teaches children how to cope with everyday difficulties, to talk about this feelings and explore suitable coping strategies. Zippy's Friends members are responsible for training teaches (kindergarten and primary) to implement the programme at school and evaluate the effect of the programme on children's development.

Using Multi-model Teaching and Learning Experiences to Enhance Early Childhood Education
The goal of this project is to promote effective teaching and learning through the use of a multi-modal approach (i.e. mix of face-to-face and E-learning strategies) in the department of ECE. This project will create a set of exemplary modules that utilize online and face-to face teaching in order to promote more effective learning for students. The project will focus on the use of new pedagogies (e.g. problem-based learning and online learning) in dynamic ways to ensure that students are able to engage with content in inquiry based, active learning and problem solving environments.

Capacity Building for Pre-school Children: Health Promoting Kindergarten
100 Kindergartens in HK City were recruited to join the project in order to promote health for Teachers, Curriculums, Childcare Workers and the Whole Kindergarten as well. 10 district health advisors of preschool academics have been trained for this project. There are 30 kindergartens as awarded to be the healthy kindergartens in HK.

An Interpretive Study of Early Childhood Teachers' Pedagogical Reflection in Hong Kong
Empirical work on reflection in easily childhood education by early childhood teachers in-service is seriously underplayed. It would be valuable to explore the elements of early childhood teachers' pedagogical reflections as well as to unveil factors affecting reflective thinking in early childhood education and developed in "authentic setting"
